QCWA Editor Search

The Quarter Century Wireless Association, Inc. Board of Directors is 
announcing the search for a replacement Editor. Doug Walbridge, son of our 
current General Manager, Chuck Walbridge, is our current contract Editor for 
the QCWA Journal. Doug will be terminating his current contract appointment 
with the QCWA on or around the same time as his father terminates his 
position as the current GM which is March 31, 2012. The Editor is an 
appointed contract position, by the Board of Directors, and reports to the 
QCWA General Manager. The diverse responsibilities of the Editor must 
include solid writing, editing, and computer and software publishing skills. 
The Editor candidate should be proficient in the use of software such as: 
Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, PhotoShop, Ilustrator, and Adobe Acrobat) or 
equivalents, all compatible with current publishing standards. The selected 
Editor may work either out of an existing publishing office or at home as 
they see fit. Due to the special language associated with the ham radio 
hobby, it would be preferred that the applicant for the position of Editor 
be a licensed radio amateur operator. The Editor position will not require 
travel. The exiting Editor, Doug Walbridge, will be providing copy setup 
instructions/samples to make the transition for the new Editor easier. Due 
to our incorporation status, this position is restricted to US citizens. The 
selection will be based on proposals submitted by interested parties.

Anyone interested should obtain a copy of our Solicitation for Proposal 
(SFP) package from QCWA Director Gary Harrison, KØBC by sending a self 
addressed, 9" x 12" envelope with $1.08 postage. The package is also 
available, as a PDF file using the link below. The SFP contains additional 
details and requirements for the position with an outline of the content of 
the proposal for the position. Proposals must be submitted by August 1, 2011 
to be considered. The committee may request a personal interview prior to 
selection.
