Greetings all,

As mentioned in the previous email, I have worked up some statistics using the
new Roster just posted.

QCWA is an international organization in that it has members in more countries
than just the United States. However, it must be said that the overwhelming
majority (92.8%) come from the US. So, it is fitting and in our best interests
to look at the available figures for QCWA's "home" country.

This 1st chart shows a breakdown of membership according to Call Areas.

================================

The BAD NEWS, of course, is the overall drop in membership. Part of this can be
attributed to a higher number of Silent Keys than most organizations, since we
are a "senior" group.

Call Area 6 has had the largest overall drop, averaging close to -5% p.a. each
of 3 years, with 6.3% just last year. Call Area 7 was -6.1% last year,
averaging about 4% p.a. the last 3 years. Both 2 & 8 come out at -9.1% over
three years.

The GOOD NEWS is the marked increase we see in two call areas.

In call area 1, the annual increase is 16, or 3.6%. Though the figures are down
from three years ago, the positive trend this year is good news.

In call area 4, this year's increase was 35 for 3.7%. Their 3-year increase was
6, so they are in positive territory over the long term. Call Area 4 hss the
highest number of members, so that makes the percentages even more significant.

DX or international membership will be addressed in another email.

Cheers,
