Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentleman. QCWA President Roske, N0UF;
Publications Committee Chairman Baldy, W0OFY; General Manager Chuck,
K1IGD; and I are pleased to inform you that the SPRING 2011 audio
version of the QCWA Journal is now available on-line for download. This
audio version is a specially edited version of the QCWA Journal intended
primarily for the visually handicapped. It is not a complete
transcription of the entire Journal.
If you have not done this before, simply navigate to the QCWA Web Site
-- http://www.qcwa.org/ -- and look for the box on the TOP RIGHT of the
QCWA BANNER. Click on that box (Journal on Tape), and you will arrive
at a list of the Journal issues currently available. Click on Download
the Current Issue and you will receive the audio journal. Save that
file to a folder on your computer hard drive.
This file will play very nicely with the Windows Media Player that is a
component of your Microsoft Windows operating system.
Your QCWA Officials are pleased to make this recording available to you
and encourage you to enjoy the recording at your leisure. The file is
made available to our visually handicapped members by special
arrangement and with the cooperation of the Handi-Hams group. If you
know of anyone in your Chapter who would benefit by having these files
for their use, please contact either General Manager Chuck, or myself,
at your earliest opportunity.
Chapter Secretaries are encouraged to provide our General Manager with
your quarterly Chapter Report for printing in the Journal. Deadlines
for the individual Chapter Report submissions are January 1, April 1,
July 1, and October 1 of each calendar year.
Please be advised that various considerations related to the production
of this down-loadable audio file DO NOT PERMIT the transcription of the
entire Journal. This file is NOT INTENDED to replace The Journal in its
entirety, nor can it do so.
Thank you for your support of QCWA. 73, Vic Culver, W4VIC,
Coordinator, Journal Taping for the Visually Impaired.
