[QCWA] Daylight "Saving?" Time

Life without Daylight Savings time can be strange. When stationed
in Okinawa we were on one time all year long. No problem. This
particular base was 24/7 operation. Half the base personnel were on
rotating shifts. 2 eves, 2 days, 2 mids and 80 hours off. Sometimes
called 2, 2, 2 and 80. So called "day workers" basically worked 0730-1600.

In the winter things did make you feel a bit like an animal living
underground for the season. We never saw the sun, unless it was a
weekend, as we worked in secured facilities, without windows. We got
up in the dark went to work, and returned in the dark. It was a bit odd.

One benefit of a 24/7 base was that all facilities were open all the
time, the exchange, library, gym/athletic fields and the MARS shack.
