[QCWA] International Growth & Communication

Greetings Gentlemen,

Try to focus here. This suggestion is FOR INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS ONLY! IT IS
NOT FOR U.S. AMATEURS since they already receive the QCWA Journal as part of
their membership.

For PDF format to be an option for the U.S., it would have to represent NO
DANGER to the printed, paper version. Since we are only printing about 7000
copies now, we do not want to get into a situation where the print quantity is
too small for economical processing. Therefore, our membership numbers would
have to rise significantly for it to be viable to have an either/or option.

Some people like PDF; others don't. The point is that PDF would provide a cheap
way of delivery of the Journal, or whatever the PDF version would be called, for
our INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS. It will give them a sense of belonging to be "in the
loop."

One of our Directors, Tony Hirsch, was involved in research regarding the
feasibility of electronic publications a few years ago. His conclusion was that
it was not economically viable. He even offered to send me the results of his
research, which I am looking forward to receiving.

Thank you all for your feedback. Your active participation in this discussion,
as well as others, is greatly appreciated. This reflector, or listserv, besides
being a good place for general announcements, is also a great "marketplace of
ideas". It is only with everyone's input that QCWA can truly meet the
collective needs and desires of its membership, in the best way possible.

Cheers,

Dave VE3JX
