Greetings All.......
In just a few more hours, the reality of the holidays will be upon us and the hustle bustle at the stores will return to business as normal. At last, no more long walks from the parking lot at the mall to the store......Whew!
As usual, as at Thanksgiving, most of us will overindulge at the dinner table and after pushing away from the table we will say something to the effect of: "Geeez.......I ate waaay' too much!
But, that's "OK" because between Christmas and the New Year, you will do the same thing you do every year............work on your New Years resolutions which naturally will include getting back on that diet that you conveniently forgot after week # 4 of 2009. Surely you made it to week # 4?
As you are working on that new list of resolutions, I would ask that you consider adding two more items to that list:
1. Remember that first QSO and the excitement that you felt, which was comparable to a little child opening gifts on Christmas morning? Pass that excitement along by making it a personal goal to recruit at least one new person into our wonderful ham radio hobby. Ultimately, that new ham will become eligible for QCWA Membership.
2. Do you remember the joy and the pride that you felt when you attained 25-years of ham radio service and joined the ranks of the Quarter Century Wireless Association? Your qualified ham friends are awaiting your invitation to join us so that they too can be just as proud. Take them to your next Chapter meeting, loan them your QCWA Journal, or better yet, sponsor and sign them up as new Members! You can download the Membership form from the QCWA Website: www.qcwa.org
Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays, great DX and may your wire antennas never fall down. Never forget the real reason for the season.
Kindest Holiday Wishes,
