Howdy QCWA Members:

If you should happen to find yourself traveling in central Texas this Saturday, April 18, I would recommend attending the HamExpo hamfest in Belton, TX.

Where is Belton, TX?........It is located South of Waco, TX and North of Austin, TX on I-35. Specifically, Belton is immediately South of Temple, TX.

How do you find the hamfest location?........As you are traveling North or South on I-35, the hamfest location is at the Bell County Expo Center, on the South side of Belton, TX and on the West side of the freeway. (Exit # 292).

The Bell Expo Center is very easy to spot from the Interstate highway as it appears to be a huge metallic flying saucer. As you arrive at the "saucer", you will observe strange "aliens" scurrying about wearing strange devices suspended from their belts and even stranger hats with numbers and letters on them. Extreme care should be observed as you approach these "aliens" as they may try to sell you stolen radio items from their mother ship! Since "aliens" are early risers, the hamfest starts at 7 AM.

More information about this great hamfest can be obtained at:

While at HamExpo, please come by the QCWA table and learn all about some of the exciting things that the QCWA has planned for this year such as  the Dayton Hamvention as well as an ocean cruise in October, to name a few.

Beam me up Scotty!!
