[QCWA] Making QCWA Better

Thanks Bob for your reply.

Okay, so if I understand it right, the annual minutes cover all your
deliberations from throughout the year. Interesting . . .

I knew that you would not physically gather together each month. I guess I
assumed that you would be doing so via telephone conference (as RAC does),
or by email deliberations. In the scenario I was thinking of, each monthly
meeting approves the minutes from the last meeting. However, as you say,
you don't have monthly meetings . . .

As far as publishing the minutes of the annual BoD meeting: great. (Walt
corrected that for me.) It does seem to be a long time though between
updates for the members on what is being decided for them . . .

No one wants a multipage financial report in the Journal; I thought that I
made that clear. A ONE page statement would suffice.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Dave.

PREAMBLE (Part 1 of 3)

Nothing here that every Board of Directors since the mid ninties hasn't
already discussed and formulated new ideas to rectify; "Are YOU a Deputy?"

GOVERNANCE (Part 2 of 3)

The minutes for QCWA Board Meetings have appeared in the Journal for at
least the past 10 years.
The minutes from 2001 through 2007 are also on the QCWA website.
The Board does not hold a monthly meeting, where do you thing we would get
the money needed to accomplish that? We do have an ongoing meeting via
email that runs from conventin to convention. The minutes for the past
year's actions will be approved at this years Board Meeting and become part
of the minutes at that point.

FINANCIALS (Part 3 OF 3)
A treasurer's report is included in the minutes of our meetings.
Publishing an in-depth, multipage financial report that most don't care
about is a waste of our limited resourses. A copy of any of our financial
documents is available from our Finance Committee. Tony, W8RSH, Chairman of
that committee has been involved with this committee since 2001 and in that
time no one has ever asked for a copy of anything. Of all the hamfest
tables I've ever worked I've never had a prospect ask to see a financial
statement.
