Its that time again.
In a couple of weeks the April 5/6 QSO Party................
Thought I better remind you, as it is important that as many of you as
possible get on the air. Our QSO parties are the best advertisement that
QCWA get as far as active amateurs go. Operators that know what
QCWA means hear the activity and are reminded that we are an active group.
Listeners that don't know what QCWA means have their curiosity tweaked,
and hopefully investigate.
Myself I just get to log a bunch of old friends...... And this year collect
some
membership numbers for the QCWA 60-60 award..
I haven't received my Spring Journal yet, but I understand it is in the mail.
If you haven't received yours yet the Party information is at
www.qcwa.org/qso-party.htm .The rules have been updated a bit, so have
a read.
Also the publicity sent to worldradio and CQ got garbled a bit.. CQ got
last years
date in their March Issue. I hope their April issue is corrected. I have no
idea where
worldradio got their information. It wasn't what I sent. Please don't send
your logs
to Dick Newsome, WOHXL. Dick did the log checking for many years, but passed
the job to Bob Buus, W2OD several years ago. He will be very surprised to
receive
QSO Party Logs ( I do run into dick during the odd QSO Party).
If you look at the QSO points you will see that you get 1 point for phone and
2 points for SSB ? ? ?
I have one job to do before the QSO Party. My city of Ottawa had the
largest snowfall
for March ever recorded. And it all came in the first week or so of March.
A VERY large
slide of snow off my roof broke my open wire feeders, so if I want to use
my sloper I
will have to dig my way out to them.
I hope to work many of you, and please send in your log to Bob Buus even if
you only
make a few contacts.
Cheers
George-VE3BNO
