This is being posted for  AL LaPeter W2AS, President, Chapter 45, QCWA

I have been reading all the postings about our fine organization.  Some want
"change" and I don't understand the need for it--if you are satisfied with the
status quo then join; if not, don't join but why try to change the entrance
requrement of 25 years--we would have to change a revered name too.  It is so
easy to form another association and call it whatever you want.  Some of us are
happy with the way things were and still are.  If you are looking for a new
group why not form a "QYWA"--Quarter Year Wireless Association; that will
increase membership--I might even join but I will not relinquish my membership in
QCWA.  I used the words "status quo" but that is not very accurate as we are a
Chapter that is constantly moving forward; we are increasing our membership
and doing things for the betterment of our amateur community.  Many of our old
timers participate in many facets of amateur radio.  It would get too involved
to mention what some of our Chapter members do with and for QCWA and other
clubs.  It has also been mentioned that we should encourage newer/younger hams
into our organization; that's not a problem as long as they meet the 25 year
requirement.  We encourage and welcome all hams to our weekly net and to our
monthly meetings.  Some of them continue to join us and for example 1 lovely lady
who is unlicensed does more for our Chapter than any member I can think of; my
wife who does not yet have her 25 years in, does more than most to assist me
and the Chapter.  You know what the rules are and what National will tolerate
but I would ask you to use a common-sense approach.  If this needs further
amplification, any Chapter President can contact me personaly at
W2AS at earthlink.net and I will respond.  Long Live The QCWA.  73,  AL, W2AS, President,
Chapter 45, QCWA
