To all QCWA members:
On March 21, Dr. Albert Helfrick K2BLA will be making a PowerPoint
presentation at the regular QCWA Chapter 45 monthly meeting.
Dr. Albert Helfrick says,
"This year marks my 50th year as a licensed amateur radio operator. In
recognition of that milestone I have prepared a presentation of my
experiences in the electronics field. This presentation is not so much about
me, or even amateur radio but more about the incredible inroads made by the
electronics industry. The presentation is not all technical, but the
techno-crowd will find lots of interesting material. I will talk about my
first vacuum tube radios to my latest low noise "Pseudomorphic High Electron
Mobility Field Effect Transistors" that I use in my space-related
communications. Much of the presentation is downright funny. There are
stories of my days in broadcasting, the U. S. Army in Viet-Nam, my college
days and my latest endeavors in space communications."
Dr. Helfrick, is chair of the Electrical and Systems Engineering
Department and Mechanical, Civil and Engineering Sciences Department at
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is the author of 14 text books,
