I don't know if my original message went thru.
All the talk about the old 201a brought back plenty of memories. My first rig on 40 CW was a pair of 201a's running pushpull with 100 volts DC on the plates. The area in New York City where i lived still did not have AC. We lit the filaments by putting them in series with a 30 watt bulb. With a goosenck lamp we had a light over the operating position. I never got a pushpull Hartley to work. Why I don't know. Friends of mine did run them that way. Had plenty of fun in those days. What did we know then, the tank coil ala QST was made of quarter in copper tubing. That was easy to get in those days. The 201a's drew 40 mils, that meant 4 watts ot, talk about low power.
