Howard Lester was a true gentleman . I have missed  him on !.811 mhz  and
the visits to the Rochester hamfest  will not be as enjoyable now.

Howard, Ruth and  kids spent many summers at a log cottage on the Tay
river near Perth, Ontario. My yearly visit was  a joy indeed, and  Howard
was a regular check-in on the VE3STP repeater when at the cottage.

In the 50's Howard was an unofficial advisor to a group in Ottawa that was 
working
on batteries , software and modules for the early amsat  satellites.
