I use Windows XP as my OS
My connection is thru Comcast with 6.5MB but with "Power Boost" so I can 
have as much as 25MB if nobody is using the service (I have actually 
gotten this thruput late at night as tested by dslreports.com (the speed 
was actually faster than that, but there was overhead.  This was tested 
on my family computer running 1.8MB P2, thru a 4 port router, so I 
imagine that I could have significantly higher download if I was 
direct.  My radio control computer is also running Windows XP, and is 
exactly the same as the family computer. The only difference is the 
radio control computer is configured with no modem card ( I don't need 
one anyway) and 6 COM ports, while the family computer has 4 additional 
high speed USB ports.

Browser is Mozilla 1.7.12  I haven't updated because I want to maintain 
the profile select which new versions of either Firefox or Netscape have 
seemingly eliminated...
