[QCWA] Father Joe, W5JEB

Notice to all the QCWA Chapter 63 members and Radio friends of Father 
Joe, W5JEB.

Radio Friends:

My wife and I visited Father Joe Kolb (W5JEB) this afternoon.  He 
fell about a month ago and injured a knee, requiring rehab.  He is 
able to walk some but is slow.  He is staying at the Catholic Pastoral 
Center and does not have a telephone at this time.  Father Joe told us 
that the Bishop wants him to retire there.  Also, the Bishop does not 
want him to drive.  As if that is not enough, last Sunday his home had 
a fire.  He has not been able to go see the damage but was told that 
his clothing was destroyed.  He does not know about the radio 
equipment yet.  We offered to take him to see about the property when 
he feels able.  If the radio was not destroyed we may need to organize 
an antenna party to help as he has permission to install a wire 
antenna at the Pastoral Center.  I have had several requests for 
Father Joe's mailing address to send cards. He does not have a phone 
at this time.
