[QCWA] Tape downfall

Norm,
Yes about the blinkers at Pearl.  I can see them very easily
since I live on a hill top very close to Pearl.  I once suggested
to KH6GI (a 75 yr member of QCWA) also a CW hotshot from way back,
that why not we set up a a ham blinker net and chat back and
forth to all visible stns. I was gonna put a 110v 100 watt light
top of my aluminum mast and key it (grin).   Well the idea never
did materialize but I still think it would have been fun.
In San Juan harbor when I was on Col Penrose in1940 and early 1941
We would just key up our blinkers and call CQ.  We got return
signals from all kinds of navy ships and just chatted away with
them.  Security seemed to be no problem at the time.
