Thanks for sharing Bob! It is extremely interesting to read how
these most senior hams came into the hobby. There weren't a lot who went
before, so you had to have a visionary streak to see where all this
"wireless" was heading.

Also, I don't know what it is about having a "2" call, or being from Bergen
County, NJ, but I'll take it!

Subject: [QCWA] Long Time QCWA Members

Good Evening,

I just had the pleasure of adding Arthur Winter, W2ABT to the QCWA Website.
Ace was born in 1910 and holds QCWA member number 426. As far as Chuck and
I know, there are only four living members with numbers below 500 and not
many more below 1000. Check Ace out at url http://www.qcwa.org/w2adb.htm

We still have two charter members left, #13, Frank Lester, W4AMJ (W2AMJ in
1947) and #23 Ralph Hasslinger, W2CVF.

The forth is #363, Seymour Denby W2BNW, born in 1913, QTH Hollis, NY. I've

add a page for Sy too, but there isn't mush on it.
http://www.qcwa.org/w2bnw.htm

We have write ups on our two charter members but I'd really appreciate it if
someone in the Hollis, NY Area would get together with Seymour, record his
ham career and forward it with a picture or two to me so it can be added
too.

For those of you that live near a QCWA member number 500 - 1000, or if you
are such a member, start thinking about doing the same thing. For now we
have plenty of space on the website.

If we don't capture this information now, it will be lost forever.

tnx es 73,
Bob N0UF
Webmaster
