Hurricane victim information......
______________________________________________________________________

W5KFX, Don, and N5OLQ, Suzi, are safe in Plano, TX and reported the
following DXers from his area are safe: K5PP, Max is Houston; KB5GL,
Silvano, is in Houston; N5VN, Walter, is in Alexandria; K5OVK, Cliff,
is in Melissa, TX (nr Dallas); W5ZPA, Mike, is in Memphis; W5JYK,
Stan, is in Boca Raton, FL; K5KR, Wondy, and N5GGO, Shirley, stayed
in New Orleans at East Jefferson Hospital, where Wondy is still
recovering from pre-storm surgery. Also RTTY man AA5AU, Don, is OK in
Shreveport, LA.

In the New Iberia and Lafayette area of Louisiana KZ5D, Art, and W5ZR,
Bert, are OK and suffered no damage and the W5WMU 20 tower contest
station survived.

K5YG, Bill, and his family weathered out the hurricane from Ocean
Springs, MS. He reports the homes of K2FF and K5YG suffered minor
damage but their towers both went down. Bill went on to say just
about everything on the water between Pascagoula and New Orleans has
been destroyed.

N5FG, Floyd, from Wiggins, MS are safe in Monroeville, AL. N4HPL,
Jesse, from Irvington, AL is OK and lost his antennas and part of his
tower. AD5W, Russ, in Covington, LA is OK and sustained little
damage, and his tower and antenna survived.

As we reported yesterday N5PA, Alan Clark, from Laurel, AL and his
family are all OK. Alan updated us on what happened in the Laurel
area. "over 1000 homes totally destroyed and many times that
damaged." I think this pretty much says it all. "There is nothing
like having 80 MPH winds for 14 hours and 125 MPH winds for 4 hours."

W5XX, Malcolm, is OK but lost all his towers in Vicksburg, MS.

We're glad all of the above are alive and well. Many of the guys and
their families are displaced, unable to get to their homes and I am
sure most if not all are really stressed out. Some are in their homes
with no power, water, gas or food. Our thoughts and prayers are still
needed during these difficult times.
