October 30, 2005: Marine Corps Marathon as seen from Mile Markers 6 & 8

This year's running of the Marine Corps Marathon was held on a  
beautiful fall day…

  Several members of Chapter 91 helped with communications, and  
member and ARES officer Howard Cunningham, WD5DBC, took the lead in  
organizing all amateur radio operator support for the event...

If anyone knows the name and story behind the "junior marines" who  
were there helping to hand out cups of water and gator-aide, please  
let me know.  They had distinctive shoulder patches, but I didn't get  
a good look (or photo) of one.  Later, I saw them all lined up at  
attention while their adult minders were getting them ready to board  
the bus for home.
