Under Recent Events:
-----------------------------
May 14, 2005: Dan Zeitlin, K2YWE, talks about DX contesting

"Dan, first-licensed in 1956 as KN2YWE, was drawn to CW, both
rag-chewing and DXing. During Field Day 1996, he "fell in with a bad
crowd: dyed-in-the-wool contesters." He was invited to be one of the
operators at Frank Donovan's super-station, W3LPL, and that "set the
hook and reeled me in."

Dan told us about his own station, what he has done to improve it for
contesting, and then made his experience relevant to the rest of us.
He started with contest basics and then built on those to include
operating strategies, interfacing hardware and software that you can
add to improve your operating effectiveness, lots of tips for both CW
and phone contesting, favorite contests, how to find help locally...
See the story for details.

Updates:
-----------
The story of our trip to the Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute
was revised to more accurately describe the nature of the orbit planned
for the James Webb Space Telescope about the Sun-Earth's 2nd Lagrangian
Point.

Also three more photos from our visit were added to the Photo Album for
the trip.

These were taken by Frank Haynes, W4NUA. I especially like the one of
Pete Norloff, KG4OJT, and his son, Matthew.
