[QCWA] Phone patches

I never participated in MARS, but in the sixties and seventies I ran some phone patches for military personnel.

One of the most memorable was from a sailor at a US Navy base in Africa, Port Lyautey or something like that.  I patched him through to his girl friend in Norfolk.  He said "Where were you last midnight when I tried to call?"  "Uh, I was studying over at Julie's house.  By the way, I had a little wreck in your car.  I think they called it 'total'."

That particular phone patch probably didn't help the morale of that young man.
