August 13, 2005: Tour of WTOP's historic AM transmitter site in  
Wheaton, MD

"WTOP-AM began in 1926 as a 50 watt station in Brooklyn NY. Its call  
letters were changed to WJSV in 1929...

"The building we visited, with its three tall antenna towers all in a  
row, was built around 1939 on very high ground in then-undeveloped  
Wheaton, MD...

"The first six photos in the album show what this facility looked  
like between 1939 and 1943...

"The next six photos show a daily operations schedule from 1943, some  
"cues and timings" messages received via the "order-wire" between  
WJSV and CBS, and...

"The next five rows of photos were taken during our tour of the well...

"The next..."
