Likewise I am sorry to hear about Jim he served the QCWA greatly for a
number of years.

I also agree with Jeff but from a little different point of view. I was
asked by the families of two different SK's. Although I was honored because
the SK's had not prearranged it. If you have never had to go through a
friends shack and dismantle it for me it was very unnerving.
I felt like a thief in the night disconnecting his station. I remarked the
same to the brother and he countered that Barry would want you to do it. So
that made me feel a bit better. The issue was ok do I find good homes for
this gear or go for maximum dollars. I knew both SK's very well and I
decided to go for the good homes vs. dollars as the families were not in
dire straights.
But please for those of us that may be asked to help. At least write down
what you would like to happen to your stuff. Then also make a note of what
to do with all the excuse the term CRAP that is left. Picture a 4 drawer
file cabinet. A legal size one so more stuff will fit into it. Then picture
this file cabinet filled to the limit in all 4 drawers with wall warts of
every shape, size, voltage rating and current rating. I just said no.
I bet they are still there. Then there was the garage FULL of IBM PS-2
p/c's.. Keep in mind this was 3 years ago no one would even steal them from
the curb even if you had a $50.00 price tag on them and left them out all
night... for a month!!
So the stuff you know is CRAP let someone know so someone like me doesn't
have to explain why it isn't worth anything to your family who never
understood any of it any way.
