[Qcwa] QCWA Journal on the Web

This was discussed at the Dallas Convention.

There are several areas of concern.

1. At 90 to 100K per page, it would take about five Meg of disk space for
each Journal. No one was really sure how many issues should be keep on-line
if we went that way. Our entire site now is less than eight Meg. Four issues
would quadruple our disk usage in the first year. Joe Smith, W0JOE,
provides this disk space, processor time and the physical access to it free
of charge to QCWA.

2. At what point do we put the Journal on the web, right away, in a week, a
month, two months? Without some kind of controlled access, read id and
password, some felt it would be unfair to the dues paying members when
everyone could access it free. Setting up and maintaining an id and password
file for active members would be more of a job that I have time for and
would also require more FREE web server resources.

3. No one knew the amount of work involved to convert the Journal to Adobe
format. I don't think this is a big deal but I really don't know.

Good idea Norm, just isn't feasible the present time.
