Dear Bob,
We, along with another Canadian couple tried in vain to find the Clearwater
Gator Ch 32 meeting location Mar 6th. The only reference on the web site was
1451 Missouri Ave., with no name etc.
Turns out the Clearwater chapter meets at 1451 Missouri Ave., Largo FL. Even
though Missouri Ave doesn't change from Largo to Clearwater, in Largo the odd
numbers are on the West side in Clearwater they are on the East side & there is
no 1451 in Clearwater. That never occurred to me!!! I found out a week later,
they meet in the Stacey's Restaurant, 1451 Missouri at the north end of the
Wal-Mart Plaza. No hams we could find on the local repeater knew this. I did
hear that the Gator chapter is having a problem with attendance & I believe the
April 3rd meeting at Stacey's will be a joint meeting with the Pelican Chapter.
Unfortunately we're back in the great white North.
We did get to the Pelican & Sun City Centre meetings during our stay.
Looking forward to the Ottawa convention in October.
