I just wanted the members of QCWA to know that my Dad, Hal
Cushing, died on Tuesday August 26th. I can't remember a time in my
early life that CQ CQ CQ and W1 Easy Uncle Sugar weren't part of our
weekly routine. They were mantras to us because we didn't know what Dad
was saying or what it meant. For a bit of his history for those of your
membership who don't know: he was W1EUS 1932-1962, then WB6CQG 62-70
(about which he bitterly complained that he had to have the WB and not
just W), then finally W6LXZ. That was 71 years of licensed operation
which doesn't count his early communications with a friend via a set he
built and a long wire over the railroad tracks.

We would all appreciate it if you or some of the other members could get
the word out to the Ham community that W6LXZ has signed off.

Thanks,

Shirley Cushing Flint
