Last week I responded to Jeff's suggestion we be more careful
with our estate planning efforts to avoid un-necessary delays, confusion and fraud.
In response, I mentioned my problems with my dead uncle whose
Will was stolen by his brother before anyone saw it. This lead to
a lot of heavy litigation and, of course, the controversy brought
out the greed in many of my family members.
I would like to add something else. Several years ago my mother
died. Probate took 3 1/2 years but was simple. However, just recently, after going through her records and records of the probate
proceedings, I discovered my attorney took advantage of a situation.
Property in Dover, Delaware, was sold pursuant to standard procedures by the state government who will confiscate certain property for reimbursement of expenses.
However, since I was spending money at a rate of 1,200 dollars per month to pay mother's debt, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
decided to allow me to keep the money from the sale of the property
in Delaware. When my attorney had received a check for $13,257.94
from this sale, instead of forwarding it to me, he kept it for himself.
I just finished filing an affidavit and formal complaint against
my attorney before the Board of Bar Overseers.

In an attempt to help you determine when you were first
licensed I have run into a dilemma, in checking SAMS data
base, you they show you were first licensed March 19, 1982.
But when I looked in Buckmaster's data base, filed under your
membership lists, you indicated that are already a member
of QCWA.
I am satisfied your license information in SAMS
data base is correct, however it's interesting that you have
posted information that you are already a member of QCWA
when all of the rest of us had to wait until the 25 year requirement
was fulfilled.
