Wes Randles, W4COW suffered a heart attack and passed away at age 86 on May 19,
2003.
Wes, first licensed in 1933, had served as net control for the QCWA 20 meter
net on Sunday, May 18.

Wes was elected to the QCWA Board of Directors as Treasurer to replace Art
Monsees. Art resigned and Wes was elected by the Board to fill in the
remaining term. Wes served faithfully as our QCWA Treasurer from 1982
until deciding not to run for re-election in 1996. Wes has been checking
in and serving as Net Control Station for the QCWA 20 meter SSB net for at
least 25 or more years. He has attended every QCWA Convention from the
late 1970s through 2002. Wes and Blanche Randles have both served QCWA as
volunteers in many jobs and several different chapter positions. Blanche
suggests that any memorial donations be made to the QCWA Scholarship Fund
or to the Shriner's Children's Hospitals.
