Wow, another Dayton Hamfest has come and gone.
Staffing the QCWA booth were Gary K0BC, Dan N0DT, Stan W0HX, Croft
VE3CT, Alan KJ9N, Len W8RC, Tony W8RSH, John K8LBZ, Larry WA9JMO and
Bob N0UF. Dave K9DQ was helping Larry distribute info for the 2005
cruise and a special thanks to Carey K8DOT for getting the supplies to
Hara and setting the booth up. If I missed you, please accept my
apologies and send a response to the reflector letting us know you
helped. Val W5PUT, brought up flyers for our 2003 Dallas Convention.
Stopping by for a visit were Dick W0HXL, who collects the logs for the
QSO Parties, Ken VE6AFO Past President of RAC and current President of
Chapter 151 Calgary AB, VP John, W3BE, WIlbur W0DEL President of Chapter
35 Kansas City, Jack W8WGO, Cleveland Chapt 1, Austin, Alan's brother
(sorry Austin, I forgot your call), Gene K5DLE, Champion Recruiter out
of Central Oklahoma and many others.
We have many members renew every year at Dayton. Be sure to watch the
next Journal or check on the web site for the list of new members that
joined.
The Banquet put on by Chapter 9 was lots of fun and very interesting.
The Speaker was a former F-15 pilot who talked about the specs of the
plane, performance and how a typical mission went.
Several folks asked about Jim, W7LVN who missed his first Dayton Hamfest
in many years.
The USA County Hunters Contest was going on also and I had over 50 Q's
on the way home from Alaska to Columbia South America to Kaliningrad
Europe. I also got to check into the QCWA Sunday afternoon net mobile
from Illinois. All in All a great ham radio weekend.
See you at our convention in Dallas.
