Should CW be retained as a license requirement to operate below 30mhz?

 YES or NO and why

NO - Although, if it is dropped as a requirement - the CW segments of
of the bands should REMAIN CW. You cannot force a person to operate
one mode or the other - and if you took another survey - one asking
how many studying the butts off to pass the Code Requirements and
after passing have NEVER SENT A DIT! Just so they let us that enjoy
CW keep it. And although there is also a lot of talk about dumbing
down on the technical requirements - another survey should be taken
as to how many of hams actually repair today's solid state gear. I
for one can't as the eyes are not like they were when I had to
rebuild my Valiant from the chassis up when the Pwr Xfmr blew [and
just before Spratley in the '70s.]. I seen the Government get rid
of HF - which for many reasons will, and have already, bit them in
the ---, CW gone from MARS, etc. DO NOT LET IT GO FROM AMATEUR
RADIO.
73,
Joe W7LPF [And yes, I am just a General - and IF I upgrade will
be called a FAUX EXTRA - but after spending the majority of my
adult life overseas 'keeping the groups flying', I feel that I can
hold my own - even though I am starting to work when doing the
35-40WPM ARRL CW Bulletins.
Ciao!
