Let me help clarify things. Im also on AoL. There is no way to fully turn off html encoding. AoL's software since Ver 3 is html based and when you turn "off" encoding for e-mail, you are really minimizing it -- not turning it off entirely. If you use the older Ver 2 or DOS ver. 1, it will not generate HTML.
I hope this clears it up.
