Hey, Bob:
Perhaps that's a good idea. Perhaps we have folk who are good writers who
can't civility and their only way to respond is without it. Most likely your
piece will stir up some talk.
I'll start one. I still hear a great deal of moaning on the 75 and 40 meter
SSB bands about the lack of adequate gate-keeping by dropping code speed from
20 & 13 to 5. Yet I keep wondering, do these who bash the changes spend much
time themselves doing CW? or do they simply gather around their private
campfires with their compadres in a group-moan-and-groan about "how awful it
is today" and "how much better it was in the olden days"? Pretty soon for a
bunch of us, the "olden days" are going to be over with and so will we. Not
many SK's doing either SSB or CW, that I've noticed.
Perhaps us OT'ers could help the new-comers into the world of Amateur Radio
by spending time with them on CW ourselves. I do. Does anyone else?
Any thoughts?
