No answers Mike, but wanted to mention about the grand-daddy of all
Radio disturbances occurred during WW2 it was about 1942 or 43,
dont remember which. We had a solar disturbance so severe that
we could not even hear the local AM BCST stns in San Juan, PR.
I was in Sig Corps at the time and we used all Super Pro's for receivers
at WVN. The am bcst stns were less than 15 miles away and of course
running like 1 to 5 kw at the time. All our Super Pros went dead,
I mean only inherent receiver noise was normal but no signals of any
kind on any freqcy from BCST AM freqs all way down to 30 Megs!
We immediately called our mntnc techs in from the radio shop next
door to us to get a fix. They took them one by one into the shop
and were able to trace a sig generator right thru the receivers with
no problem so they asserted there was nothing wrong with any of the
rcvrs. This was so weird probably nobody on this qcwa reflector
will believe it! But I can personally verify it happened and so
can the FCC if they wish to do so. BTW I had not had even my
usual rum and coke yet for that day. So dont tell me I was drunk
at the time!!!! The Total blackout lasted for serveral hours!!!1
