apparently my hurried response to the reams of qcwa e-mail was actually

That was uncalled for in any circumstance.  If you don't like reading
the mail, don't.   This isn't rocket science.  Unsubscribing from the
list is not too difficult, if you follow the instructions.  I expect
better behavior from a ham radio operator.
