Update to the Downloadable Files Folder:

The file "May_03_automatic_control.rtf" has been added to the folder "W3BE's
The Rules Say..." This article covers the following topics:

Automatic control of amateur radio stations including repeaters & beacons,
What to do with the license for your old call sign, and
Information bulletins periodically broadcast by some repeaters.

It first appeared in the May 2003 issue of Auto Call published by the
Foundation for Amateur Radio (FAR).

John credits Tony Fiaola, K3WX, for clarifying some fine points about
repeater operations for his article. Tony operates two repeaters in Ashton,
MD, on 147.000 and 443.150. In a photo, Tony shows off two GPT-750
transmitters built by TMC for military use. The ultimate boat-anchor, each
weighs over 800 lbs and operates on the HF bands SSB, AM, and CW.
