Hello Chapter members.

April meeting
-------------
The next chapter meeting will be on Saturday, 19 April, at our normal
meeting place, Neighbors Restaurant. Lunch orders will be taken at 11:30
a.m. with a short business meeting to follow.

Chapter member Bill Moneysmith W4NFR will present a program on Gold Panning=
.
Bill and his wife Lydia prospect for gold as a hobby and have been at it fo=
r
about 4 years now. =A0Most of their activity has been in Virginia, North
Carolina, Ohio, Alaska and Arizona. They use a water type of sluice box whe=
n
they have access to water, and a Dry Washer in Arizona where=A0there is no
water. Both methods use panning as the final process for getting Gold. =A0=A0=A0

Bill has a 30 minute VHS video tape about Gold Prospecting in Virginia. =A0
Their Gold Club participated in the filming last fall in Gold Vein,
Virginia. It was aired on the OUTDOOR Channel as a segment for Prospecting
America. =A0=20

Bill plans to bring in some of the basic tools for a show-and-tell, along
with some photos. =A0 He will bring small dishpan-size container and give a
little panning demo of some concentrates to give the folks an idea of what
it looks like.=20

This should be a most interesting program.

May meeting
-----------
The May 24 program will be the annual visit by Bill Cross, W3TN, who will
discuss action in the FCC during the last year that affects Amateur Radio.
Please note that the May meeting is being held on the fourth Saturday to
avoid a confict with the Dayton Hamfest.

For both events, please bring something for the chapter auction.

See you Saturday.=20
