You might not be finding any Europeans disagreeing with you,
perhaps, because you seem to share their opinions. That you can even =
make a
serious statement that the President and SECDEF are war criminals, =
without
the caveat that it is nonsense to liken them to Hitler, Pol Pot and =
others,
is pretty disheartening. These are the leaders of our Country you are
talking about. You don't have to like them, but please support what =
they
represent. Honest debate about the merits of what we are attempting to =
do
is fine, but if you even tolerate discussion of them like this, you've =
done
your Country a disservice. Saddam is not a War Criminal? Because he =
kills
his own people? I remember a certain Adolf who did the same. I notice =
you
didn't mention Powell and Rice, which I find doubly interesting.
Europeans are scared, perhaps, because they see that the US, which
they saw as a failing empire, is again ascendant, and it sticks in their
craw. They are avid consumers of all American products, of every kind, =
but
their hypocrisy about the Country that created them is a disgrace. It
shames me that the remaining WWII Vets, who fought and died for European
Freedom, are now vilified by the places that benefited most.

I also find the italians, as usual, to be friendly and open. From my
discussions I have found that many are mystified at what they see as the
diplomatic bungling and incompetence shown by our current administration =
and
want explanations. Many are deeply opposed to war when they think=20
that other options have not been exhausted. Some do think that George=20
Bush and Donald Rumsfeld are war criminals. Like americans nearly all=20
want a quick american victory; everyone agrees that Saddam is horrible.=20
Many believe that this war will increase the number of terrorists and=20
therefore jeopardizes their personal safety. Many feel that the UN and=20
NATO have been badly damaged and don't understand what the United States =
gained in return.
