Thanks to all that responded to my query, [Dick/KM4ML - Jim/W5JO - and
Gary/K0BC] to name the first ones.  As I came to find out, after 
digging through the file cabinet - I have the original letter that Ted,
W5EJ sent to me when I first applied for QWCA Membership back in 1987,
while posted to Portugal. In that letter he stated that he found me
listed as WN7ZQV in the 1955 callbook - so that clears that up.  It 
would have been nice to get 'continuous' but, as everyone knows -
our Novice licenses back then were only good for 1 year and not
renewable - and I had 'broken service so to speak'.  So again, thanks
