As one of the primary operators of W2MM during both the spring and fall QSO
parties and also during the QCWA Convention, perhaps we can put this
"thread" to rest quickly.
The W2MM operation from the convention site in Kissimmee, FL had nothing to
do with the QSO parties. Chapter 45 (this year's convention host) ran 2 HF
stations (one on SSB and one on CW as a "Special Event" and also to allow
convention attendees to get on the air during the convention.
The W2MM/4 operation used an Icom 756 Pro for SSB and an original Icom 756
for CW. feeding Cushcraft R5 Verticals and a G5RV inverted "V". The
station was located in the Hospitality Suite at the convention. Bands
operated depended on conditions and local interference (SSB and CW on
different bands). We were on all bands between 40 and 10 Meters.
If you worked us (either at the convention or during either this year's
spring or fall QSO parties), and desire a QSL, send your card and a SASE to
W1DLP at his CBA.
