[Qcwa] NOS tube

Hello, everyone.
       I am asking for your help in locating data on an old tube I acquired. 
It is a VX-64, with its box marked having been made by Victoreen, a company 
no longer in existence under that name. Apparently it is a diode of some 
sort, having been used in power supplies for medical monitoring and for use 
in military radar, according to one note I received. The tube is 3/8" in 
diameter by 1 1/4" long, with two long wire leads coming out of the clear 
glass end.
       Any one on the reflector who has used such a tube in the past?
