Hey John  where do you want your first prize sent to???
You hit it all right on the nose man!   Yep 5 meters it was.
Type "30" tube... Kingston Bpak eliminator.   Didnt even have
to search for stns on the band.  Due to the transceiver tube
actually emitting a small amount of signal even when receiving
only,  all the searcher had to do was roam up and down the band
till he heard a kinda "hushed" down spot and you could bet money
that spot was another guy waiting for some activity to take
place.
And guess the oatmeal copper wire and galena was everybodys
initalization!
Ahhh them was the days!   From Kokomo I could often encounter
long skip into Cal, Nevada, SD, etc.   Wonder what my power
out was in milliwatts.   Yet those 5 meter signals would bust
your ears if the audio was cranked up to high.  But then a
type 30 tube didnt have much audio to start with.
I guess I am as ignoramus as the next guy.
