Larry:
As a life member who has been in the organization for several years my re=
ason for joining was the prestige of associating with members and friends=
that are cordial, friendly, knowledgable, helpful and kind. It was, and=
is, the reflection of a simpler time when hams would do anything to enco=
urage, cajole, and teach others how to be hams.
I hope you have not gotten the message you are unwelcome, you are. Let m=
e shout that again YOU ARE WELCOME, as are your ideas and opinions. I we=
lcome the challenges and, really, regret some of the changes in ham radio=
over the years, but as aptly stated, tune in to one of the nets and atte=
nd one of the meetings to see what the vast majority of members are like.=

I, too, wondered about the tone of your question but held off responding.=
Now I wish I had responded immediately. If you choose to join QCWA I w=
ill be happy to assist you in any way possible get the maximum enjoyment =
and usefulness from the organization. =20

Thanks to Gary and to all who responded. Some good reasons were given fo=
r
QCWA membership. Perhaps it helps those who are current members and help=
s
those who would be members. Also sometimes such brainstorming assists th=
e
leadership as they formulate their marketing programs.
