I don't know how many of you have had the chance to see our President
work a crowd at a hamfest but it's a wonder to behold.  He's so smooth
and seems to have a response for every comment or question thats to
the point, contains good information and maintains rapore even when
things don't go very well.

In Lebanon, I had the the opprounitity to see him on unfamiliar ground,
not having a quick and witty response.  Gary was talking to a ham who
looked older than we were and used his patented,

"You'll never join any younger"

the response

"I'll bet I've had fewer birthdays than you have"

I'm not sure if the expression on Gary's face was 'Are you kidding?'
or "What is this guy trying to pull"  but it wasn't  'I'm in control of
this'
which is the norm.

After several very long seconds, the truth came out.  He was right,
he did have fewer birthdays than Gary.

His birthday - February 29th.
