I recall that Thor Heyerdahl had an NC-173 aboard the Kon
Tiki. I recall some National Company advertisements telling
how the Kon Tiki swamped on a reef upon reaching its
destination, and everything took a bath-- but they let the
NC-173 sit in the sun a few hours to dry, turned it on, and
it worked.
