[Qcwa] The ballot

I'm glad you asked that question, Duke. It appears I need to educate myself
more on the mechanical arrangement of the leadership within this great
organization. I presumed that, like the august body of the ARRL, our leaders
were all gathered in a plush board room on the 40th floor of some ivory
tower somewhere, busily at work from 9 to 5 determining our problems and
then letting us know when they were through solving them - when not on an
expenses-paid junket to various exotic locations for conferences, of course.
It could be I'm somewhat mistaken there. Is the reason really that nobody
wanted the job?

As for me, I suspect most of them are positions that actually take some
serious time to fulfill, and in my case I still work 50+ hours a week for a
paycheck. Not even enough time for my grandkids, let alone adding a fulltime
staff job. :-)

Besides, I know Gary Harrison personally, and if his required schedule is
any indicator, I don't think I could stand the pace, even if I WAS I
retired.
