I would say you know exactly what your talking about!!
I also forgot to mention, if I ever do put one of the laptops
On the internet, I would most likely go with "LINUX".   I didnt
know it was that imune to virus' but that helps.  I just
prefer a "command line" type of operating system.  Unix I like
too although I've only learned enuff about it to keep things
tidy.
