To: "TC" Freret W4KB

Hi there. Are you the guy I worked with in Miaxa in 1950 or
was it 1949? Are you the one who was top gun on the
seniority list for many many years at ARINC? I signed on
there When Charlie Chase was the 1st Stn Manager and when they
rif'ed about 65 of us out of the OFACS at WBR on opposite
side of the 36th St Airpot. If so I got a question for you
which has never been answered completely! When we use to
be relieved by the next shift, we would tell the CW opr on
the other end of our cct "rj" meaning sby my relief opr is
here. I was told the "rj" was carried over from RR morse
at lease some combination of morse characters became "rj"
in international CW code. We have never been able to find
out which RR morse characters those correlated to.

We had one other RO at the station who was married to a
gal from the Bahamas. Tall skinny guy who was formerly
a "RR" telegrapher but cant remember his name any more.
Saw your PIC in the recent QCWA journal that just came out.
Mine was also in there having just received my 65 year
certificate. Can reply direct to me [email protected]
or just post a msg to the QCWA reflector. Either way is
okay by me.
