We werent talking about a st or location on Oahu, but in Maui.
And the town is Makawao "cow town" of Maui and of course is legitimate
word in Hawaiian but the whole discussion was about a St Sign near
Makawao Maui pointing to a place called "Kokomo" and its still there.
The word in question was "kokomo" which had no foundation in the
Hawn Language or folklore or lyrics or Music of the area. The origin
of how "Kokomo" appeared on the scene was the question, and no one
including the local newspapers knows for sure. Only thing for sure
it has no basis whatever in Hawaiian language or folklore.
