Comments:

I had not planned to operate FD this year; however, family plans suddenly
changed and I found myself in the shack/office Saturday morning with the
new-to-me K4D on 10M. There were a number of stations from different areas
of the country chatting. Since I had not used the K4 for more than a few
short QSO’s, I decided to try and see how it would play in Field Day from
the HOA QTH (1D NC) with the attic Moxons. I set myself a small goal of 50
contacts and only did S&P.

10M stayed somewhat open right up to 0000Z. I made a few contacts on 15,
then tried 20, with no luck. On 40, I only got one MDC station to hear my
weak signal. I did try 6M a few times, no phone signals heard, and after
the poor results on 40, I never even tried 80.

Looking forward to using the K4 in the IOTA Contest from the beach sand
dune site at the end of July.
