I'd like to add that I like the idea for a presentation on remote operating
(not just contesting). It's a topic that draws lots of attention and, as
those of us who have done it know, requires lots of attention to details to
do it right. Personally, I spent a couple of years reading everything I
could about how others did it (always steal from the best). I think we as a
group have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience on this subject.

Just a couple of points to keep in mind, which most of you probably know
but ....
- The presentation slots are one hour (based on past experience). That
means you probably have 45 minutes in order to accomodate transitions
between speakers. The presentation needs to be very focused and tight.

 - This is a topic that will generate a LOT of questions. This will be a
good opportunity to tell folks to "follow up at the PVRC booth" (setting
the hook....)

- If this topic is accepted, I think it provides a theme for our PVRC booth
;^) (Remote Contesting?)

- If the presentation gets accepted, we need to not just depend on RARSfest
to provide publicity. I'm thinking at a minimum we need a BIG sign at our
booth advertising the presentation. Use social media, club plus personal,
to promote ahead of time. I'm sure I'm not the only one whose scrolling vs
posting ratio is about 29,999:1. I'm sure others have better ideas

Oh, since we have some time to prepare, think about taking some (new)
pictures of you (most important) and your station. I know our primary
activity doesn't look very 'active' but if we can get some pictures showing
something other than just our BIC skills, that will go a long way to making
a more interesting picture. I did a slide show a couple of years ago that
we used at the booth. I'd like to update it. Those polyester leisure suits
and bell bottom jeans are starting to look a little dated.
